Chairman & Managing Director
Mr. K. V. Somani has more than 45 years of experience as a successful business leader in various agro-based industries across the B.K. Birla Group of Companies, Sungro Seeds, Mahyco and Krishidhan Vegetable Seeds. He has had the opportunity to help build these companies not only in revenues and profits but also win the trust and confidence of customers and partners to become key contributors to the growth of global farming community. He was also the Director of APSA (Asia Pacific Seed Association) for 6 years; this role gave him key insights into the demand-supply of seeds in international markets as well as ongoing research and development activities of international seed companies. He is the visionary behind Somani Seedz and is the guiding figure in Somani Seedz responsible for over-all strategy and leading the international initiatives.
Director Production (North)
Mr. Pramod Singh completed his Master of Science (Agriculture) in Agronomy from C. S. Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur. He has more than 25 years of experience in reputed companies like Sungro Seeds and Krishidhan Vegetable Seeds as a Production Manager & Assistant General Manager, Production. He is a Leading Professional in contract seed production of Hybrid & OP seeds with a proven track record in implementing quality control measures to deliver high quality seeds as well as implementation of cost saving measures to achieve substantial reduction in overall expenses for the company. He is a self-motivated, dedicated and result oriented person. He has the ability to develop good relations with progressive farmers, organizers & government officials. At Somani Kanak Seedz, he is responsible for the seed production in the northern regions of India.
Director (Research & Development)
Mr. Arjun Singh has more than 27 years vast experience in seed industry as a leading professional in Research & Development. He is an expertise in brassica family i.e. Cabbage, Cauliflower, Knol Khol, Radish & Carrot. He has worked with the reputed Seeds Companies and developed goods hybrid in cole crops which significantly increased the business as well as brand image of the organization Dr. Singh is currently playing a key role in research as R&D Head at Somani Seedz & guiding research team. His rich experience, knowledge & exposure on latest technologies & tools will help in development of value added products as per market need which would fulfill our customer need.
Non-Executive Director
Mr Vivek Gupta is Co-Promoter and Director of Forexserve Risk Management Consultants (P) Ltd, New Delhi. He has more than two decades of experience offering unique blend of Market understanding, Strategizing and Balance Sheet endurance. He has deep expertise in advising clients in areas of currency & interest rate risk management for billions of dollars, interest cost reduction and setting up of treasury best practices.
Previously, he has worked as Corporate Treasurer with HCL Infosystems Ltd. and then at Jindal Stainless Ltd, where he dealt with risk management, resource mobilization and funds management. Vivek graduated from Sri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University and then qualified as Chartered Accountant from ICAI in 2000. He has conducted various workshops and seminar as Corporate Trainer and is visiting faculty for ICAI treasury and derivatives certificate program. He strives to connect with people, beyond transaction level.
Non-Executive Director
Skilled in Photography, Prototyping, Analytical Skills, Creative Problem Solving, Strategic Planning and Administration, Mr. Somani completed his education as a Product Designer in 2012 from IILM School of Design, Gurgaon. He is an experienced Director with a demonstrated history of working in the seed industry since the inception of the company. His knowledge in the field of Agriculture with added skillset in Design added to the recognition of the company’s brand ‘Somani Seedz’ on a global scale in a very short span of time. The brand name, logo design and package design is an output of his work. Design Process, System Design and Management are his key qualities.
General Manager-Quality Assurance
Mr. Brijesh Kumar Dubey has more than 21 years of experience in vegetable seed industry as a leading professional in Research & Development. He has expertise in Tomato, Eggplant, Bittergourd, Bottle Gourd, Sponge Gourd, Cucumber, Sweet Pepper & Squash. In the past, Mr Dubey has worked in reputed vegetable seed companies like Sungro Seeds Pvt Ltd and Mahyco Limited as a Sr. Vegetable Breeder and had developed good hybrids in Tomato & Gourds crops which significantly increased the business as well as brand image of the organizations.
Mr. Dubey currently plays a key role in R & D and Quality Assurance as General Manager (QA) in the Southern Region of Somani Seedz & leads the research team there. His rich experience, knowledge & exposure to latest technologies & tools is key in developing value-added products as per market and customer needs.
